Role Overview
Early-career data analyst role dedicated to the Aviation team, supporting data analysis, reporting, and analytics across the aviation portfolio.
The role supports the Senior Data Analyst, Aviation, and the wider Aviation team; deep aviation knowledge is not required initially.
During the first year, the role reports to the Head of Specialty Insights and Analytics and spends approximately 25% of each week embedded with Data & Analytics.
The Data & Analytics team provides technical training, tools, and access to the data lake and SQL environment for application to Aviation work.

Role purpose and team
Early-career data analyst role dedicated to the Aviation team, supporting data analysis, reporting, and analytics across the aviation portfolio.

The Data & Analytics team provides technical training, tools, and access to the data lake and SQL environment for application to Aviation work.
Core responsibilities
- Translate broker and stakeholder problems into data and AI questions; explore ideas and help shape user stories and analytical approaches.
- Clean, analyse, and validate data from premium, placement, claims, underwriter, and portfolio-performance sources.
- Identify and explain data patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Produce reports, dashboards, and analytics for broker lineslips, facilities, and senior management.
- Support AI-enabled automation of data entry, cleansing, reconciliation, and report production.
- Collaborate across data, technology, and analytics teams; document work and apply human review and best-practice data and AI standards.
Development scope
- Build reporting suites for bordereaux, income, claims, and utilisation across the lineslip portfolio.
- Produce portfolio-level analytics for renewal strategy and market presentations.
- Identify lineslip data-quality issues and work with brokers to resolve them at source.
- Define requirements, map workflows, and set data-capture standards between broking and IT/AI development teams.
Candidate requirements
- Strong data foundations, curiosity, and motivation to learn quickly; aviation context can be learned on the job.
- Use good judgement about AI, apply human review, document work, and follow data and AI best practices.
