Data Analyst, Risk & CFCC

Role summary

Key responsibilities

• Analyze Risk and CFCC use cases and collaborate on cross-functional solution delivery.
• Define data solutions with Risk Framework Owners and reporting teams; work with CIO technology developers on implementation.
• Use Python and SQL programming and debugging to support data solution development.
• Develop Presto SQL views for data delivery and visualization.
• Use Jupyter Notebook and Excel Power Query for data programming and build Tableau dashboards.
• Map data, identify reference data, and conduct data analysis and management.
• Investigate and reconcile data for reporting needs and legacy business-as-usual work.
• Document solutions, prepare data dictionaries, and assist with data quality management.

Strategy and delivery

• Define data sourcing guidelines, target data definitions, and data architecture for the Risk and CFCC Data Store.
• Enable best practices, data delivery frameworks, and data modeling guidelines for Operational Risk.
• Support strategic and ad hoc Risk and CFCC data requirements and stakeholder delivery.
• Coordinate end-to-end data delivery roadmaps with CIO teams and identify golden sources for data attributes.
• Work with the wider data community and CDO Office on best practices, solution patterns, and nimble solutions.
• Scan trends in data management and data science technologies and incorporate relevant practices into ways of working.

Risk and conduct

• Embed data quality, secrecy, privacy, records management, and AI ethics controls in data solution design.
• Follow applicable risk management practices and identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.
• Support Risk and CFCC Data Team outcomes under the Bank's Conduct Principles and applicable laws, regulations, and code of conduct.

Skills and experience

• Experience in Risk and prior SQL and Python programming experience.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and generative AI.
• Business analysis, effective communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Graduate or postgraduate in Computer Science, Finance, or a similar quantitative discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience in a similar role and at least two years of overall experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python data programming, and Jupyter Notebook.
• Able to build relationships at all levels, work in a team, handle time pressure, and adapt to changing requirements.
