Data Analyst

Role overview

What you will do

• Improve and process data from multiple sources using Excel, Power Query/Power BI and/or Python or SQL.
• Help reduce manual effort in staff cost reports and improve application-for-payment processes.
• Provide cover for commercial assistants producing white- and blue-collar cost reports.
• Work with Commercial, Procurement, Finance and external parties.

What KierBAM is looking for

• Advanced Power BI, Power Query or equivalent data-modelling skills, including multiple Excel and unstructured datasets.
• Strong Excel skills, including INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, nested IFs, TEXTBEFORE/AFTER and VSTACK.
• Strong numerical, analytical and critical-thinking abilities; collaborative, detail-focused approach and ownership of work.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in data science, programming, finance or quantity surveying.
• GCSEs in Maths, English and IT or a technical subject at grade 5 or above.
• BPSS check and further pre-employment checks are required.

Location and schedule

• Based at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth, with at least three days per week on site.
• The role is full time, 42.5 hours per week.
