Data 360 - Lead/ Principal Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview

What you will do

• Build and deploy Data 360 solutions in customer environments using SQL, Apex, Python, Flow, APIs, Salesforce DX, Git, and deployment tooling as needed.
• Engineer ingestion, harmonization, identity resolution, data views, and batch or streaming integrations.
• Test functional outcomes, edge cases, security boundaries, failures, and performance at customer scale.
• Develop RAG, vector search, knowledge-base, MCP, and agent communication integrations for Agentforce.
• Apply data governance, security, authentication, authorization, and resilient distributed-system patterns.
• Debug implementation issues, document evidence and tradeoffs, and escalate product gaps with reproducible details.
• Pair with customer teams and partners, package reusable implementation materials, and support production handoff and stabilization.

Experience and background

• 8+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or technical implementation, including production data solution experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on Salesforce Data 360/Data Cloud or comparable enterprise data-platform implementation experience.
• Experience with enterprise data pipelines and integrations using one or more platforms or technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, cloud object storage, or enterprise MDM.

Technical qualifications

• Proficiency in SQL and fluency in at least one of Apex, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Understanding of data modeling, APIs, integration patterns, batch and streaming, and copied, federated, and Zero Copy data access.
• Experience building AI retrieval systems such as vector databases, search indexes, embedding pipelines, or knowledge bases.
• Experience with secure service integration and data access, including testing permissions, entitlements, consent, and user context.
• Relevant Salesforce Agentforce, Data 360, and Salesforce Platform certifications are mentioned without being stated as mandatory.

Delivery environment
