Tabashir is a fast-growing, Shariah-compliant B2B Trade Credit platform based in Riyadh.
We empower businesses (merchants) to offer their buyers up to 90 days of payment terms, while ensuring sellers receive their funds upfront — in full.
Through our technology-driven platform, we make trade credit simple, transparent and compliant for SMEs and corporates across Saudi Arabia.
As we scale, we are building out a high-quality credit function and are looking for a commercially minded, experienced Credit Officer to be a cornerstone of that effort.
More experienced candidates may be considered for a Senior Credit Officer position.
Role Description
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the heart of Tabashir's credit operations.
You will be responsible for evaluating credit applications, managing risk across our SME and corporate portfolio, and helping shape the credit culture of a growing fintech.
You will work closely with leadership and clients, and have direct input into underwriting frameworks, policy development and portfolio strategy.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills with sound commercial judgment — someone who can read a set of Arabic financial statements or sales ledgers, understand the story behind the numbers, and make a confident, disciplined credit decision.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess credit applications from SME and corporate customers
- Analyse financial statements, bank statements, sales ledgers, and cash flow data to assess creditworthiness and repayment capacity
- Evaluate financial and non-financial risk factors, including management quality, trading history, payment behaviour, sector dynamics, and operational profile
- Recommend appropriate credit limits, tenors, and instalment plans in line with internal policies and risk appetite
- Structure and evaluate security packages, including promissory notes, personal and corporate guarantees, assignments of rights, and other credit protections
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify early warning indicators
- Support collections, rescheduling, and remediation strategies where required
- Contribute to the development of internal credit policies, underwriting frameworks, and risk processes
- Prepare clear, concise credit memos and recommendations for management review
What We Are Looking For
- 7–15 years of experience in credit risk, SME lending, trade finance, banking, factoring, leasing, or fintech
- Strong experience within the Saudi market is essential
- Proven ability to analyse financial statements, bank statements, sales ledgers, receivables data, and working capital positions
- Arabic proficiency (reading and writing) — the ability to review Arabic-language sales ledgers and financial documents is a distinct advantage
- Sound commercial judgment combined with disciplined underwriting standards
- Good understanding of security structures and credit enhancement mechanisms used in Saudi Arabia
- Familiarity with Shariah-compliant financing structures is preferred
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CPA, SOCPA, CFA, or actuarial) are a positive differentiator
- Strong communication and report-writing skills in English; Arabic a significant plus
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup and growth environment
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science or a related field
