CP - Electrical Engineer | Transmission Line | UAE

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Act as Competent Person for transmission line construction and supervise installation, erection, testing, and related work.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, method statements, specifications, UAE regulations, client standards, HSE requirements, and project procedures.
• Inspect sites, identify hazards, review permits and risk assessments, and ensure safe work near energized systems and existing utilities.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, contractors, consultants, and client teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing, conductor installation, and other applicable activities.
• Verify personnel, tools, equipment, and work methods; conduct toolbox talks and provide technical and safety guidance.
• Report incidents, near misses, unsafe acts or conditions, and non-conformities; support corrective actions and maintain inspection, permit, and CP records.
• Stop or suspend unsafe work and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

Mandatory requirements

• BE, BTech, or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in transmission line projects.
• Valid ADNOC or TAQA approval as a Competent Person (CP) is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction and site activities.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements, work permits, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
• Good communication and coordination skills, including working with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.

Preferred experience

• UAE or GCC project experience is preferred.

Work setting

• The role involves transmission line site and construction activities in the UAE.
