Overview
Job Description – Cost Control Engineer (Aluminum Factory)
Job Purpose
To monitor, control, and report project costs to ensure projects are completed within approved budgets, while maintaining financial accuracy, efficiency, and discipline.
Costing, Budgeting & Codes
- Prepare project budgets based on BOQ, drawings, and project scope.
- Develop cost breakdown structure (CBS) aligned with WBS.
- Understand cost codes, resources, and work breakdown structure (WBS).
Cost Monitoring & Control
- Track actual vs budgeted cost and perform variance analysis.
- Monitor material cost, labor productivity, and efficiency.
- Highlight cost deviations and support corrective actions.
Forecasting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly cost reports and dashboards.
- Develop cost forecasts (ETC & EAC).
- Identify risks, cost overruns, savings, and cost trends.
Change & Variation Management
- Review variation orders (VOs) and change requests.
- Maintain VO log (approved, pending, rejected, disputed).
- Assess cost impact of scope changes and update commercial team.
Coordination
- Work closely with planning, procurement, factory, site, QS, stores, logistics, and finance teams.
- Coordinate for monthly cost data and project updates.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain proper cost records and audit trails.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and contract requirements.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Quantity Surveying or related field.
