Responsibilities
- Perform grid integration studies including transient, steady state, voltage stability, harmonic, power quality, LVRT and fault ride through studies
- Perform short circuit analysis and size switchgear and circuit breakers
- Perform insulation coordination studies (cable, transformer, reactor energization, TRV, lightning strike, VFTO)
- Perform arc flash analysis per international standards
- Conduct load flow studies for renewable energy systems capacity addition scenarios
- Identify reactive power elements required for RES capacity addition
- Verify grid code compliance before power plant energization
- Perform motor acceleration and re acceleration studies
Requirements
- Experience in grid integration studies (transient, steady state, voltage stability, harmonic, power quality, LVRT, fault ride through)
- Experience in short circuit analysis and sizing switchgear and circuit breakers
- Experience in insulation coordination studies
- Experience in arc flash analysis per international standards
- Knowledge of renewable energy sources modeling (Solar, BESS, Wind)
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, DEP and other industrial standards
- Good knowledge of country specific grid codes, especially Middle East region

Experience Required
- Experience in Grid integration studies like Transient and Steady state stability studies, voltage stability studies, harmonic studies, power quality studies, LVRT and Fault Ride Through studies.
- Experience in performing short circuit analysis and sizing the switchgear and circuit breaker as per the standard.
- Experience in Insulation coordination studies cable energization, transformer energization, reactor energization, TRV, direct and indirect lightning strike study, very fast transient over voltage (GIS) using PSCD or similar, Switching study, Power oscillation damping, Sub Synchronous Resonance stu
- Experience in performing arc flash analysis as per the international standard.
- Experience in Contingency analysis for designing grid components.
- Experience in performing Ferro resonance Studies associated with Transformer, EHV Cable.
- Experience in performing the Secondary Arc current extinction study for performing successful auto reclosure study.
- Selection of Surge Arrester Duty such as Residual Voltage, Energy Level.
- Load flow studies to assess the overloading elements in the network as per the Renewable Energy Systems (RES) capacity addition plans/scenarios.
- Identification of reactive power elements required under multiple cases for RES capacity addition plans/scenarios.
- Shall have knowledge on Modelling of Renewable Energy sources (especially Solar, BESS & Wind).
- Assessment of the operational challenges posed by Different RES technologies Solar, Wind
General Requirements
- Candidate shall be very well familiar with the IEC, IEEE, DEP and other industrial standards.
- Detailed Analysis of the available technological solutions in market for performing system studies.
- Ability to assume the typical input data parameter for each study as per project specifications and standards where the actual input data/parameters are not available.
- Good knowledge and interpretation of various country specific Grid codes (requirements related to Middle East region is preferred)
- Able to provide various optimization possibilities along with compliance to Grid code requirements.
- Knowledge in identifying the issues/challenges which may arise during grid integration and suggest solutions.
