The Contracts Engineer supports the commercial and contractual management of
infrastructure projects
, ensuring that contractual obligations are administered effectively, risks are controlled, and entitlements are protected.
The role plays a key part in change management, claims support, correspondence, and compliance with contract conditions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in the administration and management of project contracts in accordance with the applicable contract conditions (e.g., FIDIC) throughout the project lifecycle
- Support the review and interpretation of contract documents, specifications, and project correspondence.
- Assist in tracking contractual obligations, deliverables, notices, and key project milestones.
- Assist with preparation, review and management of contractual correspondence, notices, and records
- Assist in variations, and claims management and procedures, including the preparation and maintaining of supporting documentation, substantiation, contemporary records, claim narratives, etc.
- Coordinate with Project, QS, Planning, consultants, subcontractors, and Commercial teams on contractual matters
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulations
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline
- 1-2 years’ experience in contracts or commercial roles within infrastructure or construction
- Experience working on infrastructure projects preferred (roads, utilities, marine, civil works)
- Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts
- UAE or GCC project experience preferred
