Overview
The Hemodialysis (HD) Unit provides renal replacement therapies (RRT) including: acute hemodialysis, chronic hemodialysis, hemofiltration, hemodiafiltration.
The patients are categorized as having acute renal failure or end stage renal disease and many have multiple co-morbidities.
Care is provided to patients of all ages including neonates.
Their treatment regimen require close monitoring and prompt nursing intervention when necessary to ensure a safe, effective and comfortable treatment.
Approximately 250 -300 sessions per month) with 7 dialysis station.
The hemodialysis nursing staff have specific training in renal replacement therapy that includes hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration and continuous renal replacement therapy encompassing anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and renal replacement therapy machine technology.
