Nicholas O Dwyer Ltd. is seeking a

Contract Administrator / Senior Quantity Surveyor

to lead all commercial and contractual aspects of a major water infrastructure supervision project.

The role will focus on contract administration, cost control, claims management, and financial reporting, ensuring the Client s interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer construction contracts in line with project requirements.
  • Review and certify interim payments and final accounts.
  • Measure and verify quantities of completed works.
  • Assess and manage variations, claims, and contractual disputes.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Client.
  • Maintain full contractual documentation and records.
  • Support procurement and tender evaluation processes.
  • Monitor project costs and identify financial risks.
  • Participate in progress meetings and provide commercial updates.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and claims assessments.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on variation impacts.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required, in line with the evolving needs of the role and the business.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years experience in contract administration / QS roles.
  • Preferably a Postgraduate Diploma in Contract Administration.
  • Strong experience with FIDIC or similar contract frameworks.
  • Proven experience in large infrastructure or water projects.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Chartered status (e.g. MRICS or equivalent) is Desirable
  • Strong understanding of procurement strategies and dispute resolution.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
