Project Overview
Nicholas O Dwyer is providing Technical Assistance and Supervision services for a key water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Gaziantep, Ad yaman, and Kilis provinces in Turkey.
The programme includes the design, construction supervision, and operational planning of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and network rehabilitation.
The work places a strong emphasis on sustainability, institutional capacity building, and resilience.
About the Role
Nicholas O'Dwyer is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the contract and cost management activities of water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Turkey.
The role will assist Senior Quantity Surveyor with payment certification, measurement of works, and documentation related to financial monitoring of contracts.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, working in collaboration as part of a larger team is essential for this role.
- Assist in the preparation of interim payment applications, valuations, and final accounts.
- Support senior QS staff in tracking variations, preparing cost reports, and assessing claims.
- Assist in site measurement, quantity take-offs, and checking contractor submissions.
- Maintain records of financial data, change orders, and correspondence relating to project costs.
- Support with contract administration in accordance with FIDIC requirements and procedures.
- Responsibility to maintain regular updates and communicate progress to the senior team.
- Maintaining a culture of continuous improvements across all aspects of the working environment and projects.
- To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- A 3rd level degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 8 years professional experience and a minimum of 3 years in quantity surveying or cost control role on Water or Wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and cost management principles is preferred.
- Experience in EU or other international funded projects.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Competent in office packages, Microsoft, excel PowerPoint etc.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
- Excellent clear and concise communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
