Role overview

Packaging and label compliance

• Review packaging designs, specifications, and label content before production and market release.
• Verify product information and required declarations, including ingredients, instructions, warnings, claims, symbols, and environmental messaging.
• Assess labels against applicable regulations and standards across product categories, markets, and sales channels.
• Review artwork, print proofs, dielines, barcodes, QR codes, and layouts against product specifications and master data.
• Maintain approved label versions, regulatory records, packaging specifications, and review outcomes.

Packaging quality and coordination

• Evaluate material durability, compatibility, protection, usability, dimensions, weight, recyclability, and cost.
• Coordinate packaging testing for durability, leakage, seal integrity, transport, and environmental performance.
• Investigate packaging and labeling defects and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers; review supplier records and approve samples against specifications.
• Manage label changes and regulatory updates, maintain version control, support launches, conduct audits, and prepare reports and risk assessments.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in packaging technology, packaging engineering, materials science, chemistry, food science, quality management, regulatory affairs, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in packaging analysis, label compliance, packaging quality assurance, product documentation, or regulatory coordination.
• Understanding of packaging materials, printing, labeling requirements, applicable regulations, testing, quality control, barcodes, and production specifications.
• Experience with packaging specifications, artwork approvals, label revisions, and document control.

Capabilities

• Ability to review label content and interpret regulatory guidance, technical standards, supplier documents, and product specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and document comparison tools.
• Analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Packaging artwork tools and product lifecycle systems are advantageous; ISO 9001 familiarity is beneficial.
