Construction Environmental Program Manager
Role Overview
The Microsoft data centre development portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large-scale, multi-year data centre construction projects.
The Environmental Construction Compliance team supports the delivery of Microsoft’s data centre portfolio from pre-construction to handover to operations.
The Construction Environmental Program Manager will work within a multidisciplinary team to prepare for early works and construction, supporting the construction team to achieve schedule dates through rigorous environmental risk management across the EMEA region.
Tracking, mapping and proactive intervention are a critical part of this success.
This role requires regular engagement with key Microsoft stakeholders, including legal, design, construction, and operations teams, regulatory agencies, and outside consultants and contractors.

As a Construction Environmental Program Manager , you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, OR extensive experience
- Significant direct experience of managing environmental risk on fast paced infrastructure projects in line with legal and project requirements and best international practice
- Experience with implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments and other enviromental permits
- While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
- Local community and stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience in delivering projects in multiple jurisdictions
Background Check Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- Real Estate Portfolio Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 70,300.00 - £ 133,900.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
