Own the operational compliance framework for counterparties and subsidiaries at a Dubai-based commodities trading group.
This is a hands-on counterparty-risk role and is not intended for a purely banking, AML/MLRO, or investigations specialist.
The Role
- Manage end-to-end corporate KYC/KYB and onboarding of customers, suppliers, agents, and trading counterparties.
- Own sanctions, PEP, adverse-media, and IMO-based vessel screening through the group's monitoring system.
- Lead enhanced due diligence on high-risk counterparties and coordinate inbound due diligence requests.
- Prepare lender and investor compliance packs for financing and stake-acquisition transactions.
- Oversee compliance execution across subsidiaries and manage a network of Compliance Champions.
- Report to the Compliance Manager and Group Head of Compliance.
What They Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of relevant compliance, counterparty due diligence, or sanctions-screening experience.
- Experience in commodity trading, energy trading, agricultural commodities, or shipping and chartering is preferred.
- Strong corporate KYC/KYB and ownership-structure analysis skills.
- Familiarity with sanctions and vessel-screening platforms, such as compliance monitoring systems, Orbis, or an equivalent.
- Arabic language capability is preferred.
- Experience supporting operations across Africa is an advantage.
