Commissioning Rotating Lead

An international engineering and construction company operating within the energy and industrial sectors is seeking an experienced Commissioning Rotating Lead to support a major project.

Role Overview

The Commissioning Rotating Lead will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing commissioning and mechanical activities related to rotating equipment during the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of the project.

The role includes managing interfaces between construction, engineering, vendors, and maintenance teams while ensuring compliance with project schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Commissioning & Construction Coordination

  • Organise, coordinate, and supervise mechanical and commissioning activities performed by subcontractors and direct-hire personnel.
  • Ensure alignment between construction disciplines, engineering teams, and commissioning requirements.
  • Monitor progress of completions, commissioning, start-up, and test run activities.
  • Review vendor schedules and coordinate vendor support activities onsite.
  • Ensure availability of materials, tools, equipment, and logistical resources required for project execution.

Hse & Quality

  • Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with HSE procedures and project safety requirements.
  • Support implementation of site HSE plans and participate in safety walkdowns.
  • Contribute to incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure quality standards and project procedures are consistently applied.

Maintenance & Operations Support

  • Contribute to planning and scheduling maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance.
  • Coordinate maintenance resources, manpower, spare parts, and logistics.
  • Monitor maintenance effectiveness and recommend improvements based on operational feedback.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of isolation procedures and permit-to-work requirements.

Reporting & Team Leadership

  • Prepare and issue progress reports within area of responsibility.
  • Support training and development of commissioning and maintenance personnel.
  • Identify competency or resource gaps and escalate where necessary.
  • Coordinate site activities to maintain safe and efficient project execution.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in commissioning and rotating equipment within large-scale industrial, energy, or EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of commissioning, maintenance planning, and start-up operations.
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, mechanical isolation procedures, and HSE standards.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams onsite.
  • Strong organisational, reporting, and leadership skills.
  • International project experience preferred.
