Position Summary
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
Support pastry kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and baked foods while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Kitchen Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients through portioning, chopping, and proper storage before use.
- Use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances safely and appropriately.
- Check kitchen appliance and food temperatures and report issues to management.
- Monitor the quality of prepared food and portions served throughout the shift.
Sanitation and Workstation
- Wash and disinfect the kitchen area and set up and break down the workstation.
- Follow food safety handling, personal hygiene, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- Less than one year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience is required.
- No license or certification is required.
Physical and Safety Requirements
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Work across sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and reach overhead and below the knees.
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time and perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Professional Standards
Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents and unsafe work conditions, and complete safety training.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect company assets, and maintain confidentiality.
Communicate professionally, answer telephones appropriately, and maintain positive working relationships.
Schedule
- The position is scheduled as full time.
Work Location
- The position is not remote and is based at the Ritz-Carlton property on Ras Abu Abboud Street in Doha, Qatar.
