COMMIS I – PIZZA & HOT KITCHEN

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Partie with final product and production; prepare toppings, sauces, fillings and savoury mise en place.
• Assist with dough dividing, shaping, proofing and portioning, and learn pizza stretching, assembly and oven procedures.
• Prepare hot-kitchen items to approved recipes and help develop breakfast and savoury products, including eggs, sandwiches, salads and sauces.
• Follow recipes and portion standards; maintain a clean, organised and stocked workstation and assist across sections during service.
• Monitor freshness and storage, rotate stock and reduce waste through correct preparation.
• Follow food-safety, hygiene and allergen-control procedures and participate in product and operational training.

Candidate requirements

• Strong professional hot-kitchen experience; good knife skills and general kitchen fundamentals.
• Willingness to learn pizza and dough production is essential; previous pizza experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Café, casual-dining restaurant, bakery-kitchen or similar experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of breakfast dishes, eggs, sandwiches, salads, sauces and savoury mise en place is advantageous.
• Able to follow recipes, instructions and portion standards; flexible, hardworking and comfortable supporting different kitchen sections.
• Willing to develop with a small and growing team; immediate or short-notice availability is strongly preferred.

Pay and package

• Salary is AED 2,300–2,800 per month, inclusive of accommodation and transportation.
• Duty meals are not included. Employment, visa and statutory benefits are subject to applicable UAE requirements and the agreed employment arrangement.
• Pizza, dough and product-development training are provided; there may be an opportunity to continue after the seasonal pop-up.

Schedule and start

• Full-time employment with one weekly day off.
• Start is immediate or as soon as possible.

Workplace

• Work location is in person in Al Ain, UAE.

Selection process

• Shortlisted candidates attend an interview and practical kitchen trial covering preparation, knife skills, organisation, hot-kitchen fundamentals, hygiene and ability to follow instructions.
