Role overview

Trade spend and commercial control

• Manage trade spend including customer rebates, promotions, visibility, displays, e-commerce activities, and other commercial investments.
• Prepare annual budgets and latest estimates with country teams, review market assumptions, and maintain investment plans.
• Track actual spending and open commitments against budgets and forecasts; raise risks, variances, overspend, and savings opportunities.
• Validate rebate calculations, customer claims, and debit notes against agreements, sales or IMS performance, activity execution, and supporting documentation.
• Review contracts and Business Development Agreements, track validity and missing documents, and ensure payments are backed by signed agreements.

Market, profitability, and purchasing

• Visit markets and stores to audit retailer execution of agreed contractual commitments.
• Prepare retailer P&L reporting, identify low-profitability accounts and commercial drivers, and recommend profitability actions.
• Review purchase requisitions and orders for activity classification, GL account, Internal Order, budget, approvals, and supporting documents.
• Reconcile commitments against actual activity, claims, and market performance; follow up on unnecessary purchase orders.
• Partner with Marketing to calculate and evaluate ROI on marketing activities and customer investments.

Controls and reporting

• Support policy compliance, including No PO, No Pay, and internal controls and audit requirements across commercial, procurement, OTC, and P2P processes.
• Maintain trackers for trade spend, contracts, claims, savings, open commitments, and outstanding actions.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are advantageous.
• Commercial financial-control experience in a multinational corporation is sought; FMCG or related industry experience is ideal.
• Familiarity with trade spend management, rebate accounting, and contract governance is essential.
• ERP proficiency is required; SAP is preferred. Advanced Excel, pivot tables, financial modeling, and data analytics experience are required.
• Knowledge of IMS or similar market data platforms is desirable.
