Collections Officer
Role Overview
Reporting to the Invoice to Collect Manager, you'll manage an assigned ledger and play a critical role in maintaining healthy cash flow across our business. This is a hands-on role that blends collections expertise, stakeholder management, and customer service.
You will:
Manage a portfolio of outstanding accounts and achieve collection targets
Follow up overdue accounts through proactive communication and payment resolution
Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments
Generate statements and invoices
Handle customer queries and service tickets
Work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple business divisions
Maintain accurate collection records and documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies and ACCC debt collection guidelines
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounts Receivable function
About You
We're looking for a confident and professional collections specialist who can balance commercial outcomes with outstanding customer service.
To be successful, you'll bring:
Minimum 5 years' experience in Collections, Credit Control or Accounts Receivable
Strong understanding of:
Debt collection processes
Accounts Receivable
Account reconciliations
Payment allocation
Knowledge of ACCC Debt Collection Guidelines
Strong communication skills and confidence handling sensitive conversations
Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
Experience with accounting or ERP systems (Oracle experience highly regarded)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
