Collections Officer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Handle collections from local authorities, Integrated Care Boards, NHS bodies, and care commissioners.
• Answer the accounts receivable phone line and manage payment commitments through to cash receipt.
• Resolve disputes involving missing or expired IPAs, purchase order gaps, and responsibility for payment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of UK credit control or collections experience; public sector or NHS funder experience is ideal.
• Working knowledge of purchase order and IPA invoicing, funder payment runs, and remittances.
• Strong spoken and written English and a confident, professional phone manner.
• ERP experience required; Odoo preferred. Good working Excel, including lookups, filters, and pivot tables.
• Awareness of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 when handling personal and health information.
• Assertive and persistent approach to obtaining clear payment commitments while remaining professional.
• CICM qualification and healthcare or care-sector billing experience are advantages.
