CNC Programmer

Overview

Principal Accountabilities

• Modify and create programs
• Manages the setup of multiple machines for operator to run
• Performs quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
• Monitors all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task

• 1.
• Program new parts using best practices.
• This includes entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
• 2.
• Prepares calculations for programming including where materials should be cut.
• 3.
• Ensures to translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
• 4.
• Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiency.
• 5.
• Analyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programs.
• 6.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs Help machinists troubleshoot problems with machines and/or production runs/
• 7.
• Continuously strives to eliminate waste from processes.
• 8.
• Ensure proper documentation of all systems and processes including documenting the parts run on CNCs.
• 9.
• Create and maintain the tool list for CNCs and ensure accuracy at all times.
• 10.
• Ensures to evaluates timely all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce turn around time (TAT).
• 11.
• Directs and monitors all programs to make sure they follow blueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.

_Job Knowledge & Skills_

• Extensive experience CNC machine programmer
• Knowledge about the specification and standard operating procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point)
• Controls and Instrumentation
• Familiarity and skills with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
