Cloud Solution Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise cloud architecture function and define standards, governance models, and reference architectures for Azure adoption.
• Establish and maintain cloud governance frameworks, workload assessment criteria, and architectural controls.
• Define Azure landing-zone architecture, platform standards, and workload placement strategies.
• Drive cloud transformation initiatives by developing repeatable migration frameworks and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with Security, Finance, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align cloud architecture with organisational objectives.
• Guide platform and vendor decision-making related to cloud services and operating models
• Develop cloud migration playbooks, readiness frameworks, and architecture decision records
• Support capability development across infrastructure and operations teams through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
• Chair architecture and governance discussions with senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Work closely with Microsoft, implementation partners, and managed service providers while maintaining internal ownership of strategy and governance.

Essential

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure and cloud architecture.
• Minimum 5 years designing and delivering enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong expertise in Azure landing zones (CAF/WAF), Hybrid identity and Microsoft Entra, Azure networking and multi-subscription architecture, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep and Cloud governance and cost-management practices.
• Proven experience establishing or leading Cloud Centers of Excellence (CCoE) or cloud governance functions.
• Hands-on migration experience across infrastructure, virtual machine, and SaaS workloads.
• Strong understanding of workload criticality, RTO/RPO planning, and rollback strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively within evolving enterprise environments and influence strategic technology decisions.

Preferred

• Experience with Microsoft FastTrack or Azure Expert MSP environments.
• Exposure to enterprise file-data migration solutions including Azure Files and Nasuni.
• Familiarity with Gartner CCoE governance and transformation frameworks.
• Experience working within complex enterprise operating environments.
