Clearance and Freight forwarding Executive

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end shipment processing for import, export, and cross-trade shipments.
• Prepare, review, and verify shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, delivery orders, and customs declarations.
• Coordinate customs clearance procedures and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
• Liaise with UAE Customs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, and other regulatory authorities.
• Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with UAE and GCC customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
• Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules to ensure timely cargo movement.
• Resolve shipment delays, customs issues, and documentation discrepancies efficiently.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation within the company's logistics systems.
• Verify freight invoices and coordinate billing documentation where required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, logistics partners, and government authorities.
• Support continuous process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• **3–5 years of proven experience** in freight forwarding, customs clearance, or logistics operations.
• Strong expertise in **UAE Customs procedures** and working knowledge of **GCC customs regulations**.
• Hands-on experience handling import and export documentation.
• Familiarity with customs clearance systems, freight management software, and logistics ERP platforms.
• Excellent understanding of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, and freight documentation.
• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple shipments and deadlines.
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of sea freight, air freight, and land transportation operations.
• Experience working with shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, and transport providers.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to identify and resolve customs and shipment-related issues proactively.
• Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
