About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Claims Manager. The Claims Manger will provide effective claims handling and advice to Members in accordance with the Claims Department’s guidelines and procedures.
- Assess risk and liability through the collection and analysis of complex information to determine optimal claim strategies
- Provide expert advice to Members on handling claims in the most expedient and cost-effective manner
- Manage the full financial lifecycle of a claim, including raising estimates, processing payments, and conducting regular financial reviews
- Evaluate coverage for FD&D claims, monitoring legal budgets and liaising with the Head of FD&D on case support
- Maintain strict oversight of time bars and key dates through rigorous diary management and document organization
- Monitor Member claim performance and fleet development to provide strategic insights to the Underwriting Department
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and service providers through regular visits and engagement
- Provide guidance, supervision, and training to junior employees and third-party partners
- Share critical information and data across departments to support the Club’s knowledge management and business objectives
Qualifications
- At least 5 years’ experience gained in a law firm or P&I Club, handling both P&I and FDD work
- Team player
- Preparing and delivering presentations either internally, to Members, or at conferences
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
