• Your mission
• We are looking for a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to work as the Reactor Building Team Lead on the design of the Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplant, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams.
• The key responsibilities will include:
• Leading the reactor building team in delivering the civil engineering detailed design for the inner containment, outer containment and internal structures for SZC, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• You will work alongside the reactor building technical lead to set the overall direction for the team and ensure alignment with our scope and specifications.
• Facilitating communication and co-ordination of complex engineering problems between stakeholders, including project team members, clients, and senior management.
• Managing workload and priorities for an international team, located within the UK, France and Romania.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Supporting our Delivery and Contract Managers in the preparation of claims and variations.
• Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• We would love to hear from people with To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:
• Bachelor’s or master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered with the ICE, IStructE, or with equivalent experience and willingness to obtain.
• Design or Technical Management experience, preferably for major projects in highly regulated industry, e.g. nuclear.
• Background demonstrating strong technical skills in your field of engineering, with experience in delivery technical packages.
• Previous experience in working on HPC or SZC projects is highly beneficial.
• Experience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software is highly beneficial.
