Civil Litigation Associate

The Philadelphia office of Kaufman Dolowich, a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas, is actively seeking an attorney to join our growing civil defense litigation team.

T his is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on sophisticated professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and commercial litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will have between 4 to 5 years of experience.

T his position provides an opportunity to practice at a firm with a national reach and handle interesting cases from pre-suit through appeal.

• Handle all phases of professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, breach of contracts, and other litigation-related documents
• Conduct legal research, assist with litigation strategy, and case analysis
• Manage discovery, prepare for, and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
• Communicate directly with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and witnesses while providing regular case updates and strategic guidance
• Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters
• Assist with and/or handle insurance coverage matters as opportunities arise
• Provide proactive case management and client reporting

• Admission to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey required, admission to Federal Courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey preferred
• 4 to 5 years of professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and/or commercial litigation experience
• Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
• Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills

• Experience handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
