Civil Draftsman (Roads & Utilities)

Role overview

Drafting responsibilities

• Prepare road layouts, plans, profiles, cross sections, signage, and marking drawings.
• Prepare wet and dry utility network layouts, profiles, sections, and details.
• Prepare drainage drawings and standard details.
• Prepare utility composite and existing utility drawings using records and surveys.
• Prepare diversion and protection drawings for affected utilities.

Standards and document control

• Apply Abu Dhabi authority CAD standards and TPD requirements to all drawings.
• Prepare drawing sets for authority submissions and NOC applications; update them in response to engineer, client, and authority comments.
• Check cross-discipline drawing consistency before issue.
• Maintain drawing registers, title blocks, and revision records; organize CAD files, references, and survey data.
• Support engineers with quantity take-off when needed.

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of UAE civil draftsman experience.
• Good knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority CAD standards and TPD requirements.
• Experience in road and utility drawings; very good AutoCAD knowledge.
• Good English.

Preferred qualifications

• Working knowledge of Civil 3D.
• Experience on airport or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience preparing utility composite and NOC drawings.
