Kitchen responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods; regulate cooking equipment and thaw frozen food in refrigerated storage.
- Ensure appropriate portions, arrangement, and garnish.
- Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and quantity.
- Cook according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Tell the Chef about excess food for daily specials and inform service staff of specials or out-of-stock items.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and support kitchen operations.
Team, safety, and guest responsibilities
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of employees.
- Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and meet quality expectations.
- Anticipate and address guest needs, communicate professionally, and build positive working relationships.
- The role involves extended standing, sitting, or walking and moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred qualifications
- At least 3 years of related work experience is preferred.
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
