About This Role
Job Purpose
The role is responsible for achieving the sales targets of the assigned channel through effective leadership and management of the sales team. The position is accountable for developing and sustaining sales strategies, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering targeted revenue within approved guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop the sales team to achieve optimal performance levels and required competencies, fostering a high-performance sales culture that consistently meets and exceeds revenue targets.
- Assess individual and team development needs and support growth through structured coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training.
- Conduct fair and objective performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and guidance to enhance skills and productivity.
- Ensure achievement of assigned sales targets and drive business growth through effective sales team management.
- Plan and manage the annual marketing calendar, including channel-specific and exclusive promotional initiatives.
- Streamline and support sales operations to maximize team efficiency; proactively identify process bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering high-quality service and positioning the company as a trusted and preferred supplier.
- Expand the customer base by identifying, qualifying, and converting new business leads into long-term customers.
- Ensure customer data is consistently updated and maintained in line with company systems and processes.
- Develop channel-specific sales strategies by analyzing historical performance, current market trends, and competitive dynamics to increase market share.
- Monitor emerging customer segments, market shifts, new products, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Recommend and secure approvals for pricing strategies in coordination with the Head of Sales/DGM/GM, considering cost structures, competition, and market demand.
- Execute assigned strategic sales plans that strengthen market presence and broaden the company’s customer portfolio.
- Analyze sales performance trends and lead times to support effective inventory planning and optimization.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports, DSO analyses, and realistic sales forecasts for management review.
- Ensure adherence to ISO quality standards and support internal and external quality audits as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Experience
- At least 8 years experience Auto sales, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in tyre sales or other automotive ancillary products will be an advantage
