Oversee product categories, develop category strategies, and drive sales growth and profitability.
Manage product selection, pricing, supplier relationships, and inventory performance to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop category strategies; analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitors; manage assortment, pricing, promotions, and product positioning.
- Build supplier relationships and negotiate commercial terms; monitor sales, margins, inventory, and KPIs; coordinate with sales, marketing, purchasing, and operations.
- Plan promotions and launches; evaluate product performance and recommend additions or discontinuations; manage budgets, forecasts, and inventory plans.
- Report category performance and recommendations to senior management; ensure product quality, availability, and company-standard compliance; carry out other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Experience in category management, merchandising, purchasing, or retail management.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of market research, pricing strategies, and product lifecycle management; supplier management, sales forecasting, and inventory control experience.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of profit margins and business performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with inventory or category management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet business objectives; proactive, detail-oriented, results-driven, and committed to continuous improvement.
