Cashier

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and provide a positive first impression of the restaurant.
• Accurately process customer orders and payments through the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Accept cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payment methods while ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
• Generate and issue receipts, invoices, and payment confirmations.
• Maintain an organized and balanced cash drawer throughout the shift.
• Perform opening and closing cashier duties, including cash reconciliation and preparing daily sales reports.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered promptly.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
• Assist customers with menu information, promotions, and special offers.
• Monitor and report any discrepancies in cash handling or billing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter and front-of-house area.
• Follow company policies, hygiene standards, and food safety regulations.
• Support restaurant operations during busy periods and assist team members as required.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of company cash, documents, and customer information.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Cashier, preferably in a restaurant, café, fast-food outlet, or hospitality environment.
• Proficiency in using POS systems, cash registers, and payment processing equipment.
• Strong numerical skills with the ability to handle cash accurately.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible shifts.
