Carpenter role in the facilities management department in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures throughout the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Construct, install, and repair wooden structures, fixtures, and furniture.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Select suitable materials and tools; measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
- Install doors, windows, trim, and hardware.
- Perform preventive maintenance on wooden structures and equipment.
- Follow safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and departments to complete projects.
- Keep accurate logs of completed work and materials used.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; valid carpenter certification is preferred.
- 3–5 years of carpentry experience, with knowledge of construction techniques and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and using carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and customer-focused communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Additional language skills are an advantage.
