Cardiac Surgeon

Overview

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations and diagnostic tests to determine surgical needs
• Perform cardiac surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs, and other heart-related procedures
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care ensuring favorable recovery outcomes
• Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, risks, and postoperative care
• Participate in clinical research and continuously update skills with the latest advancements in cardiac surgery
• Maintain meticulous medical records in compliance with healthcare standards

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
• Completion of General Surgery residency and Cardiac Surgery fellowship training
• Board certification in Cardiac Surgery
• Minimum of 5 years experience in cardiac surgical procedures
• Expertise in a wide range of cardiac surgical techniques and practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to perform under pressure and make critical decisions
• Valid medical license to practice
• Commitment to ongoing professional education and clinical research
