The role is Senior Engineer - Mechanical Engineering, specializing in computer-aided manufacturing.
The engineer will lead sheet-metal programming, nesting optimization, and mechanical design activities using CAM software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, enclosures, frames, and assemblies for electrical panels, switchgear, and control systems.
- Use Amada VPSS4i CAM software for sheet-metal part programming and nesting.
- Analyze designs for operational loads, thermal conditions, and environmental stresses.
- Collaborate with electrical design teams to integrate mechanical and electrical elements.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, IS, and company specifications.
- Validate designs through prototype testing and support production issue resolution.
- Identify cost, product, quality, safety, and manufacturing improvements.
- Select materials and components and work with suppliers and vendors.
- Participate in design reviews and maintain design and approval documentation.
- Stay updated on mechanical design technologies and materials.
Qualifications
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Three to five years of experience in mechanical design engineering or a related field is required.
- A basic understanding of switchgear systems, electrical circuits, and control technologies is required.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and guidelines, including IEC and IS, is required.
- Familiarity with electrical design is an advantage.
- The role requires multitasking, prioritization, communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
