Key responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, enclosures, frames, and assemblies for electrical panels, switchgear, and control systems.
- Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications using CAM software.
- Analyze designs for operational loads, thermal conditions, and environmental stresses.
- Collaborate with electrical design teams to integrate mechanical and electrical elements.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, IS, and company specifications.
- Conduct design validation and prototype testing.
- Identify cost reduction, product improvement, and manufacturing efficiency opportunities.
- Support production teams with design-related manufacturing issues.
- Select materials, finishes, and components for panel assemblies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source mechanical components.
- Participate in design reviews and maintain design, revision, and approval documentation.
- Keep current with mechanical design technologies and materials.
Qualifications
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering or related fields.
Technical skills
- Basic understanding of switchgear systems, electrical circuits, and control technologies.
- Familiarity with electrical design is advantageous.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and guidelines, including IEC and IS.
Additional capabilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
