About This Role
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Buyer with a strong background in the interior fit-out industry to manage procurement activities for projects, ensuring timely sourcing of materials, subcontractors, and services while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in procurement within interior fit-out, joinery, or construction companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment for interior fit-out projects.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely project execution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers.
- Coordinate with project managers, QS, design, and site teams to understand procurement requirements.
- Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of critical materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project budgets.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of procurement/buying experience in interior fit-out, joinery, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, furniture, MEP items, and local suppliers.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and vendor management.
- Familiarity with ERP/procurement software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- UAE/GCC market experience preferred.
- Knowledge of BOQ and project specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost-control ability.
