Role Summary
The Butcher is responsible for mincing, meat marination, and preparing required portions of meat in line with the customer’s requirements, section’s operating standards and hygiene control procedures.
The role holder is also responsible for weighing meat, wrapping it and putting it out for display.
Role Profile
- Apply proper meat preparation, cutting, and processing techniques according to customer requests and company SOPs.
- Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat cuts accurately and efficiently.
- Arrange and replenish meat products in display counters following presentation standards.
- Assist customers promptly and professionally, providing product information and recommendations.
- Promote additional products and stay updated on current promotions and store offers.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures throughout daily operations.
- Operate, clean, and sanitize all butchery equipment in a safe and correct manner.
- Conduct daily checks to identify, remove, and record waste, expired, or damaged products.
Requirements
- Basic English reading, writing, and interpretation skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent listening skills with high attention to detail.
