Position summary

Hands-on leader delivering reliable reporting, analytics, and data solutions to support business decisions.

Partners with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs, set priorities, and deliver sustainable solutions.

Leads the day-to-day work and development of the Business Intelligence team and manages the longer-term BI and data roadmap.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Clarify business needs, define requirements, and translate questions into practical solutions.
  • Lead and prioritize reporting, dashboard, analytics, and data-solution work; validate results for accuracy and usefulness.
  • Communicate findings and balance value, risk, scalability, and user experience.
  • Establish data quality, governance, documentation, security, testing, and support standards.
  • Drive automation, reporting efficiency, standardized metrics, and self-service analytics.
  • Supervise and coach team members; balance priorities, capacity, and competing demands.
  • Coordinate with technology, risk, compliance, and business partners on implementation, adoption, and change management.
  • Manage the BI, analytics, data management, and decision-support roadmap.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Strong knowledge of business intelligence, reporting, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Strong requirements gathering and business analysis skills, including converting ambiguous needs into implementable solutions.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate actionable insights through data.
  • Business acumen, stakeholder management, and ability to connect data and technology solutions to operational and strategic outcomes.
  • Leadership, coaching, prioritization, resource coordination, written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust, manage conflict, influence without relying solely on authority, and work across organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with SQL, relational data, data warehousing, data integration, data modeling, and data-quality practices.
  • Dashboard and report development experience; Power BI experience is strongly preferred.
  • Sound judgment and commitment to accurate, secure, documented, sustainable solutions.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Applied Economics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in business intelligence, reporting, analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders to define needs and deliver data or technology solutions.
  • Hands-on experience developing dashboards, reports, queries, data models, and analytical solutions.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, mentoring, or employee/contractor coordination experience is preferred.
  • Financial services, banking, or credit union experience is preferred.

Physical requirements

Regularly sits for long periods and uses a computer and telephone.

Occasional lifting or moving of 15 pounds or less.

The position may include driving; a driving record review may be required.
