About the Role
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, developing client relationships, and supporting revenue growth across the organisation's insurance portfolio.
The successful candidate will possess strong business development and relationship management skills, with experience within insurance, insurance brokerage, banking, or financial services environments.
The role requires a proactive and target-driven individual capable of converting opportunities into long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through direct sales, networking, referrals, and market engagement.
- Generate and qualify leads to build a sustainable sales pipeline.
- Acquire new clients and support the growth of existing accounts.
- Promote insurance products and solutions to individual and corporate clients.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and business development activities.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and business partners.
- Support client onboarding processes and ensure required documentation is obtained.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor activities, and client requirements.
- Achieve individual sales and business development targets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in business development, sales, relationship management, or client acquisition.
- Experience within insurance brokerage, insurance, banking, or financial services environments is preferred.
- Proven experience in:
- Client acquisition and business development
- Lead generation and conversion
- Relationship management
- Sales pipeline development
- Revenue generation
- Understanding of insurance products, particularly Motor, Medical, and SME insurance solutions.
- Basic understanding of KYC requirements, onboarding documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Existing professional network and client relationships within the UAE market will be considered an advantage.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
