Business Development Manager (BDM) – Engineering Consultancy (Dubai)
About This Role
Bower & Octant Engineer Consultant is looking for an experienced and highly driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Dubai.
We are a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy specializing in marine, environmental, and infrastructure projects, working with leading developers, contractors, and government authorities across the UAE and the region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and develop new business opportunities across UAE and GCC markets
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and authorities (DM, Trakhees, RTA, DP World, AD Port, etc.)
* Lead the full sales cycle: lead generation, meetings, proposals, negotiation, and closing
* Actively track upcoming projects, tenders, and market opportunities
* Coordinate with technical teams to prepare winning proposals
* Support company positioning and brand growth in the market
Requirements:
* Minimum 5+ years experience in business development within engineering consultancy or construction sector in UAE
* Strong existing network in Dubai market (developers, contractors, authorities)
* Proven track record of winning projects and generating revenue
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
* Self-driven, result-oriented, and commercially aware
What We Do NOT Need:
- Candidates with purely administrative or coordination background (this is a sales-driven role)
- Profiles without a relevant UAE network in engineering/construction sector
- “Relationship managers” who maintain accounts but do not generate new business
- Candidates without proven deal-closing experience
- Individuals who require heavy supervision or structured corporate environments
- Anyone not comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven setup
