The Business Development Director is responsible for defining and driving long-term strategic objectives for the cluster in alignment with overall organizational goals.
The role focuses on leading business development activities to ensure sustainable growth, including developing strategies for technical pre-qualifications, competitive tendering, and market expansion while supporting both short-term and long-term revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans across multiple locations or business units within the cluster
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence and revenue streams
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and manage business development teams across different locations
- Collaborate with local teams to develop tailored solutions and competitive proposals
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and strategic partnerships at the cluster level
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to maintain a competitive advantage
- Analyze sales performance, KPIs, and pipeline data, implementing corrective actions where required
- Prepare and present reports, forecasts, and strategic updates to senior management
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking platforms to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ability to identify market opportunities and develop long-term business strategies aligned with organizational objectives
- Expertise in market research, competitive analysis, and strategic planning
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to establish strategic partnerships and alliances to drive growth
- Solid understanding of risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with senior stakeholders
- Proficiency in ERP systems; SAP functional knowledge is preferred
Job Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of overall experience in business development or related roles
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- GCC experience is preferred (minimum 2 years is an advantage)
- Master's in Business Administration or Equivalent.
