Position overview

The Colorado Department of Human Services is seeking a Business Analyst for the Business, Innovation, Technology, and Security team.

The role translates business needs into technology and process improvements and supports successful implementation and ongoing support of HR systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze and document business processes, services, and information needs.
  • Gather, validate, and prioritize program requests and translate them into functional requirements for technical teams.
  • Develop and manage the UAT strategy, including test plans and use cases.
  • Serve as a primary contact for HR system end-user support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and conduct training for end users on systems and procedures.
  • Liaise between business stakeholders and technical teams and advance projects from concept through completion.

Minimum qualifications

  • Six years of professional experience as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager with business analyst responsibilities.
  • Alternatively, a related bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager with business analyst responsibilities.

  • Experience or strong understanding of Agile and Lean techniques.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A detail-oriented, self-directed approach to anticipating issues and producing actionable solutions.
  • Focus on people-first solutions and the end-user experience.
  • Emphasis on customer service and reliable day-to-day HR system operations.
