The Biostatistician/Data Scientist role is based in Abu Dhabi and combines analytics, machine learning, AI, and operational implementation.
The work supports conservation, environmental monitoring, applied research, and biodiversity management.
Education and experience
- PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of Data Science, Machine Learning, and/or Artificial Intelligence experience in academia or industry.
- Proven experience developing and implementing AI/ML models on real-world datasets.
Technical and language skills
- Strong Python and/or R proficiency for statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization; strong SQL and database management proficiency.
- Knowledge of machine learning methods, model evaluation and validation, data cleaning, preprocessing, feature engineering, and analytical pipeline development.
- Environmental, biological, ecological, or conservation dataset exposure is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, computer vision, and geospatial analytics.
- Cloud computing, MLOps, Docker, and model deployment framework knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; fluent English is required. French and/or Arabic is a strong advantage.
