The BIM Engineer develops, coordinates, and maintains digital building models throughout design and project delivery.
The role collaborates remotely and part-time with architects, structural engineers, MEP specialists, and project teams to maintain model quality and information management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate BIM models and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP model elements.
- Review drawings, specifications, and model information; conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues with design and engineering teams.
- Generate drawings, schedules, quantity information, and other project deliverables from BIM models.
- Maintain naming conventions, revision records, shared coordinates, and project documentation.
- Support BIM execution plans, information exchange, digital collaboration, model quality checks, and project standards.
- Improve modeling efficiency, data consistency, and coordination processes.
Requirements
- Practical knowledge of BIM principles, model coordination, clash detection, and digital design workflows.
- Experience with Autodesk Revit and familiarity with Navisworks or comparable BIM coordination tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and construction documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deliverables, and collaborate with distributed teams.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related engineering, architecture, or construction discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650, UAE construction standards, or relevant BIM execution requirements is advantageous.
