1. Looker Semantic Modeling & Metrics Layer

• Design, develop, and maintain
• LookML models
• , including views, explores, and derived tables.
• Define and standardize business metrics, dimensions, calculations, and semantic definitions.
• Implement reusable measures, joins, and aggregate awareness to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Optimize semantic models for usability, performance, and governance.
• Collaborate with business and engineering stakeholders to align business logic and semantic definitions.

2. Dashboard & Reporting Development

• Design and build interactive
• Looker dashboards and reports
• to support business decision-making.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive and actionable data visualizations.
• Apply dashboard visualization best practices to improve storytelling and usability.
• Implement filters, drill-downs, and user-level access controls.
• Continuously improve dashboards based on stakeholder feedback and usage insights.

3. Self-Service BI Enablement

• Enable business users to explore trusted datasets through certified Looker explores.
• Reduce ad-hoc reporting dependency by building user-friendly semantic models.
• Provide training, demonstrations, and best-practice guidance to business users.
• Define governance guardrails to support scalable self-service analytics adoption.

4. SQL & Semantic Layer Development

• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex
• SQL queries
• for analytics use cases.
• Validate business logic, aggregations, and data accuracy.
• Work closely with Data Engineers to optimize datasets, tables, partitions, and data models.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and data discrepancies.

5. Operations, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor dashboard performance, usage, and failures.
• Manage Looker content lifecycle from development to production.
• Implement content organization, governance, and access controls.
• Continuously improve analytics solutions using adoption and usage insights.

Requirements

• **5+ years of experience**
• as a BI Engineer or similar analytics/BI role.
• Strong expertise in

SQL (mandatory)

• and complex query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with
• Looker and LookML

• Strong understanding of
