We are looking for a highly skilled
Data Engineer
to join our
Data Engineering & Analytics team
and play a key role in designing, building, and operating scalable enterprise-grade data engineering solutions on
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
.
In this role, you will be responsible for building reliable, secure, and analytics-ready datasets in
BigQuery
, while developing reusable and parameterized ingestion and transformation pipelines using
Google-native services
and
Informatica IDMC
(preferred).
You will work on large-scale enterprise data pipelines, orchestration frameworks, data transformation logic, performance optimization, and operational reliability to ensure high-quality, scalable, and cost-efficient data solutions.
1. Enterprise Data Engineering & Ingestion
- Design, build, and optimize scalable batch and real-time data pipelines on
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- .
- Develop reusable and parameterized ingestion pipelines using
BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Datastream, Cloud Run
, and/or
Informatica IDMC
- .
- Implement
CDC (Change Data Capture)
- patterns, schema evolution, idempotent processing, and late-arriving data handling.
- Optimize ingestion strategies through partitioning, clustering, and efficient data loading methods.
2. Data Transformation & Modeling
- Profile source systems and assess data quality and patterns.
- Design
- source-to-target mappings
- , transformation logic, joins, aggregations, and business rules.
- Implement transformation pipelines using
BigQuery SQL
,
Dataflow
, and/or
IDMC
- .
- Build analytics-ready datasets for reporting and business consumption.
3. Workflow Orchestration & Reliability Engineering
- Build and automate end-to-end workflows using
Cloud Composer (Airflow)
and/or
Informatica Taskflows
- .
- Define scheduling logic, SLAs, job dependencies, retries, failure handling, and restartability strategies.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using
Cloud Monitoring
,
Cloud Logging
, and operational monitoring practices.
4. Monitoring, Performance & Cost Optimization
- Monitor data pipeline health, freshness, runtime performance, and anomalies.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support pipelines during off-hours/weekends when required.
- Optimize
- BigQuery performance
- through query tuning, partitioning, clustering, caching, and materialized views.
- Manage GCP cost optimization strategies for storage, compute, and query efficiency.
Experience
- **5+ years of experience**
- as a
Data Engineer
,
ETL Developer
- , or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience building
- production-grade, scalable data pipelines
- .
- Proven experience working in enterprise-scale data environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- , including:
- **BigQuery**
- **Google Cloud Storage (GCS)**
- **Dataflow**
