Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based hot and iced drinks, matcha, cold-foam drinks, and other specialty beverages to standardized recipes.
• Dial in espresso, maintain consistent extraction, steam and texture milk, and uphold drink quality, presentation, portioning, and speed.
• Assist with preparing and assembling food, including bagels, toasties, cookies, cakes, desserts, and soft serve.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes, presentation standards, and food-safety, hygiene, cleaning, and temperature-control procedures.
• Keep the coffee bar clean, organized, stocked, and maintained; monitor stock and notify the shift leader when replenishment is needed.
• Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, refrigerators, utensils, and other equipment.
• Check product freshness, labeling, and expiry dates; minimize and report product waste.
• Assist with packing and checking orders and work with food preparation staff, carhops, and the shift leader for fast, accurate service.
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties.

Requirements

• Previous barista experience is required.
• Good knowledge of espresso preparation, grinder adjustment, and milk steaming is required.
• Specialty coffee experience is preferred; experience preparing matcha and specialty cold beverages is an advantage.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy periods and willingness to learn simple food preparation.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene, good communication and teamwork skills, and reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
• Ability to follow recipes and operating procedures accurately.
• Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Schedule

• Full-time role with rotating morning and evening shifts.
• The role requires flexibility for weekends and public holidays.

Pay

• Pay starts at AED 2,500 per month.

Workplace

• Work is in person at the café in Dubai, Al Wasl.

Selection

• Shortlisted candidates may be invited to a practical Barista trial covering espresso preparation, milk steaming, workflow, cleanliness, and beverage presentation.
