Qualifications

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Working on a High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous serving experience required. Excellent customer service/communication skills are essential.
  • Available to work required schedule, as directed by department management.
  • Must have neat and clean appearance and be out-going.
  • Minors Can Work but Not Serve. Anyone under the age of 21 may work in a seller/server establishment, but they may not handle or serve alcohol themselves to the customers. Staff that is at least 19 years old are authorized to act as cashiers or ring up transactions involving alcohol, but they still may not serve it until they are of legal age. When minors are on staff, an employee at least 21 years old must always be present to supervise and act responsible for the minor.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude, and the ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Requirements also include frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing steps and sitting. Must have the manual dexterity to cut, slice, whisk, grab, grip, type, pull, hold, tear, sort, and reach.
  • Horseshoe Indianapolis is a smoking establishment, therefore must be able to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must be able to work in a highly populated fast-paced and noisy environment.
  • This position performs function of work outside the gaming space, with some performing all or a bulk of their work back of house.
  • Access to gaming floor not required due to primary work function performed outside the gaming space.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate sanitary food handling and equipment safety, properly store and label food items, maintain standards of sanitation and food handling based on County, State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintain clean/neat work area. Set up banquet area and help set tables and prepare room for guests.
  • Assure exceptional customer service to all patrons by communicating in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
  • Foster a fun environment.
  • Be gracious to all guests and co-workers.
  • Promote a positive influence in the community and participate in company-sponsored events.
  • Enthusiastically support, actively promote and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
  • Note – this position will not involve any function involving casino gambling by patrons.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working on a High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
