Experience

The role calls for 3–5 years of relevant experience in banking regulatory reporting, finance reporting, data analysis, or reporting change initiatives.

Preferred exposure includes BRF implementation, UAT support, data reconciliation, defect tracking, documentation, and transition of reporting solutions into business-as-usual operations.

Reporting change and implementation

  • Support regulatory reporting system implementation, enhancement, automation, migration, or transformation initiatives in a banking environment.
  • Interpret regulatory instructions and help convert them into business requirements, functional specifications, data mappings, validation checks, controls, and test cases.
  • Support requirements gathering, workshop documentation, UAT preparation and execution, defect logging and retesting, sign-off, production verification, and post-implementation support.
  • Analyze reconciliations, variances, parallel-run comparisons, root causes, issues, and potential solutions across banking data sets.

Qualifications and regulatory knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications or certifications in accounting, risk, regulatory reporting, business analysis, project delivery, or data management are an added advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of UAE banking regulatory reporting, including CBUAE Banking Return Forms, explanatory guidelines, validation expectations, and implementation considerations.
  • Understand banking products, financial statements, chart of accounts, product systems, customer and counterparty data, and their connection to local regulatory reporting outputs.

Controls, tools, and collaboration

  • Working knowledge of data quality, reconciliations, controls, audit evidence, change governance, and production readiness for regulatory reporting.
  • Use Excel, reporting tools, data extracts, dashboards, workflow outputs, and system-generated reports to validate results.
  • Prepare and maintain requirements notes, mapping documents, UAT evidence, issue logs, decision records, control evidence, and management updates.
  • Coordinate with technology teams, system vendors, data owners, reporting users, and change teams; follow up on issues, dependencies, and actions.
  • Show attention to detail, ownership, timeline management, and sound judgment in escalating material issues, interpretation matters, readiness gaps, and reporting risks.
